Man Days Calculation

Third-party inspections are usually paid in man-days, but many customers do not fully understand man-days. Today I will introduce what the inspection company calls man day.

Details
What is Man Day in third party inspection
When you consult a third-party inspection company for product inspection or company audit, or qualification certificate certification, the third-party inspection company will give you a quote based on the actual number of days required to complete the task.

In the third-party inspection industry, man days are generally used as a unit of workload.

After the third-party inspection company asks about your actual needs (supplier information, inspection checklist, factory production schedule, etc.), the third-party inspection company will finally confirm the actual number of man-days required.

How Man-Days is calculated

Time spent on the inspection site. A man-day usually includes eight hours of work. If the time is more than ten hours, it is equal to 1 1/2 man-days.
Time spent traveling to and from the factory is only calculated half.
We will send inspectors from the surrounding city to inspect the actual destination according to agents needs.

Man day calculation Example
The inspector works 7 hours at the factory and the round trip time is 2 hours.
The total is calculated as 8 hours (7 hours of on-site work + half of the round trip time = 8 hours)
The total man-day is 1 man-day.

Man-days required for routine inspection needs

Most pre-shipment inspections require one man-day, but depending on the AQL sampling method or sample size, some pre shipment inspection will require 2 man days.

For factory audits, if the factory is large and has many production lines and workshops, it may take 2 man-days. If it is a trader, the inspection focus is more on the trader's document qualifications, etc. Therefore, for trader audits, the man-day required is generally 1 day.

Generally speaking, it takes 2-3 man-days to monitor the loading of two 40-foot containers.
